Local only. Nothing is uploaded.
Paste a shift's notes. Hostnames, addresses, accounts, shares and case numbers
are replaced with stable pseudonyms, so HOST-01 is still the same
machine on line 4 and on line 240 and the timeline still reads as a timeline.
Timestamps are never touched. Hashes are never touched.
● Nothing leaves your browser. No upload, no signup, no analytics, no third-party requests, not even a webfont. Once this page has loaded it makes zero network requests. Open the network tab, read the source, or save the file and run it with the wifi off. There is no branding in the output either, because the output is going into your workflow and not mine.
● READ THE OUTPUT BEFORE YOU SEND IT. This is a first pass, not a guarantee. It matches shapes, so it finds things that look like an address or a hostname. It can not find a client named in the middle of a sentence unless you put that name in the custom terms box. If you send notes you have not read, you are the one who disclosed them.
Structure is preserved exactly. Markdown tables, bullets, headings, indentation and blank lines all survive, because only the matched spans are rewritten.
Matched case insensitively on word boundaries, so Northwind also catches
NORTHWIND and northwind. I recommend adding the short form
as well as the full legal name, because notes use the short form.
Taken from the domains, addresses and accounts already matched in your notes. Adding one also catches it in ordinary prose, which is where a client name usually survives. Nothing here is applied until you add it.
No pattern finds a person's name, so this is the one thing the tool cannot do for you.
It is worth the typing: one entry catches the forms a name actually takes in notes.
Jane Moreno also catches Moreno, J. Moreno,
MORENO, Moreno, Jane, jmoreno and
jane.moreno, and every one of them becomes the same
NAME-01, including where it appears as an account name or in a user
profile path.
A surname that is also an ordinary word is left alone on its own, so adding
Mark Brown does not redact every "brown" and "mark" in your notes. Put the
bare word on its own line if you do want it, and check the review table.
Never replaced, under any setting: timestamps and dates, MD5, SHA1 and SHA256 hashes,
CVE identifiers, subnet masks, and the built-in accounts (SYSTEM,
Administrator, root, krbtgt and eleven others).
Timestamps are the timeline, and replacing them would destroy the reason the notes exist.
● THE MAPPING FILE MUST STAY ON YOUR MACHINE. It is the key. Anyone who has both files can undo every replacement in one pass, so sending it alongside the notes is worse than sending the notes unsanitized, because it looks like you took care. It downloads as a separate file for that reason, and the filename says so.
